In the footsteps of Hans Christian Andersen

 

Hans Christian Andersen is the world famous fairy tale writer from Denmark. He wrote among others “The ugly duckling, The snow queen, The little mermaid” and many others.

He is also famous for his paper cuts and of course also other stories.

He was born in Odense in 1805 and died in Copenhagen in 1875.

In the footsteps of Hans Christian Andersen is a two days tour but can also be taken individually as a one day tour.

This day we will visit Hans Christian Andersens birthplace and the house where he grew up.

It is a full day tour and can be combined with Egeskov Castle not far from Odense (please read more under “Castles” by clicking HERE).

Today we will walk around the centre of Copenhagen in the footsteps of Hans Christian Andersen.

We will then walk along the harbourside and end up at Rolighed. Here the tour ends after lunch in the exact area where he died.
