In the footsteps of the viking kings and viking rune stones
Experience the amazing place, which was the first Danish monument to come on the UNESCO’s list of world heritage sites. Where Gorm the Old and Harald Blue Tooth lived more than 1000 years ago. Where you can experience the two great Viking graves, where it is believed that Gorm the Old and his Queen Thyra has been buried and the church just next to the graves from approx. year 1100. Next to the viking graves and the monuments is the Experience Center. The Experience Center offers a unique and super modern sensory experience regarding the life and legacy of the Vikings. The whole range of the human senses will be tantalized as the life of the Vikings unfolds with everything from bee-keeping to dragons. It will be a voyage from the stories that were told in the glow of the fireplace, to the life as a Viking and a warrior, the path to Valhalla as well as the transition to Christianity.
It came on the UNESCO´s list of world heritage sites in Denmark in 1994.
